We live in rural northeastern Washington, an hour from local movie theatres and "big city" options for entertainment. The birds at our feeders provide us with hours of entertainment, (we get to eat the popcorn, play music, and enjoy the comfort of our home) for only the expense of seed.

For those of you just starting your bird-feeding hobby, we recommend finding a feed store to purchase seed in bulk (usually 40-50 pounds). It is more economical, and has a fairly good shelf life as long as you buy a galvanized garbage can to keep out mice (and other scavengers).
